I have a friend that told me he had a 5 frame nuc last fall that looked very strong and packed. He used no medications at all. And it came through Winter in sound shape. Bees are pretty blond (I thought they might have been carniolians which as I understand it, they winter in smaller clusters. Is this true?)
Any of you keep nucs through Winter in this cold climate. I know is not like Canada here but we had quite a few days of 2 to 10 F this Winter in NJ.
Yes, but what if you had -10 to -20 for a few days? Some years that happens.
