What does anybody interpret this to mean'without opening the hive?I'm just trying to be a more observant beekeeper.Thanks for any comments,JOHN

It simply means the bees are finding flowers. The weather has been nice in the southeast and there may be a little aster still in bloom in your area. Wild radish (commonly called mustard)is a frequent winter bloomer in cultivated fields, and sometimes henbit is also present. I've also seen a few dandelions this week.
