I wanted to go. I bought a raffle ticket to win an expense-paid trip to it, didn't win. We're going to vacation in Maine that week, so I guess the EAS is out.
Banjos and bees... how sweet it is!

I am thinking about it, never been to anything like it that has to do with bees. So I am unsure if it is worth the expense. What do you think?

Heck yes it is worth it.

Nothing else can come close. Three (optional)
days of intensive workshops in small classes,
followed by 3 days of "main conference" with a
mix of presentations from the best and the
brightest on the planet and yet even more
    workshops.

HAS was spawned with the support of EAS, so
it is very similar, but it is shorter, only
3 days. I try to go to both every year, but
I'd go to EAS if time or budget prevented
attending both. In 2006, EAS will be in
Georgia, so it will be much closer to you.

I've attended EAS workshops and they are a pretty good bunch. They had some classes at ABF (when I belonged to such organizations) in Norfolk 1997 and they were the best in the week of programs.

I've attended the last 4 and most likely will attend this years.Unfortunately they are not getting any closer to CT.

This is the 50th anniversary so it promises to be a good one.

These guys are some of the best. And we all eat meals together,or you might room next door to one in the dorm or share a cold one at one of the (many) socials.Maybe you could get Jim Fischer to buy you a drink.

    Check out the short course:

    Or the main conference:

My only problem is choosing which lecture to sit in on

The Eastern Apicultural Society is a non-profit organization and supports bee research that benifits all beekeepers.

    OK guys,
I've been known to drink a beer too so I'll look forward to seeing you there again. Look for my RV in the parking lot.

I may actually make that meeting. Just to win the "smoker lit the longest" contest. We have a dinner meeting on the 28th of this month. It's the best...and with a silent auction. Consider yourself invited. Any other Ct folks? Contact me at dickm@snet.net
