Daisy; You should put a sail on the boats. Don't make the bees row.
As long as you are going "modern" with the hives, how about instaling air conditioning. Your girls should like that.

    Oh My! LOL

Isn't that the cutest thang you've ever seen (besides our babies)?

    I love it!

I'm going to buy new equipment this winter to build in my newly planned shop and I'll use this site for ideas... Just too cool!

I should have at least one wharf, don't you think?

    LOL

Thanks so much for the link. #;^)

I am an American Indian beekeeper. I just wanted to introduce myself so that now you may say that you know an Indian beekeeper.

*sigh* I would dearly love to do something like that with my bees but I'd be teased mercilessly by hubby.

On my Secret Wishes list is one of those bee whirligig things http://www.1-garden.com/Rome-Industr...-Whirligig.asp

And maybe a bee t-shirt too (with tiny matching ones for "the girls"!

I think I better start compiling a list for that moment when people ask "what do you want for Christmas?"

Daisy, you should think about making the roof retractable (like an RV awning) so that when it is nice outside the bees can roll it back and enjoy the sun.

If that is too time consuming, you may want to sew up little rain coats out of saran wrap and hang them on little toothpicks by the entrance....
