Hi there! still waiting on pins and needles for my nucs! Im having this vague sort of fear that the bees will not have enough forage. Not all the hives will be in the same place, however. There is a lot of fallow ground in the immediate area of one of my spots, i was wondering if there is a good perennial, hearty, fast growing and essentially bullet proof flower that bees love that i can hand sow, sort of in the sprit of Johnny Apple seed, any help?
George Ayers has plenty of information at http://www.ent.msu.edu/abj/archive_index.html You'll find he's leaning somewhat towards trees, which obviously require a lot less maintenance, but he covers a number of herbaceous plants as well.
