Mentor needed

Hi everybody,
I had a long talk with my mother-in-law the other day, and am now considering setting my father-in-law up with a couple hives of bees by next spring. (Isn't that what everyone should get from their daughter-in-law?)
So here is the problem. He is in Fairfield, Iowa, six hours away from me. Way too far to run down and help with everything on a moment's notice. He will need a bit of encouraging (hand holding) the first year. Is there anyone in that corner of the world who would like to help?
Fairfield is in the Southeast corner of Iowa, not too far from the Missouri border, or the Illinois border.
