Ohio Area Beekeepers: When is the end of the goldenrod/autumn flow?
Hello! Thinking I'm not going to have much honey harvest for myself this year, as I suspected, but wondering when the usual end to the autumn flow is in Ohio. I want to make sure I leave extra stores and want to know when the bees will be about done bringing more in so I can decide if and how much I want to feed to make sure they have what they need for the winter.

It should be starting to slow down, especially with the drop in temps this week. There may still be warm sunny days they bring nectar in. Unless we have a week or more of warm days and relatively warm nights hive weight gains will be small. Morning temps in the 40's keep the bees in the hive a while.
If you think your hives a low on stores you might want to feed soon. This gives the bees time to ripen the syrup and organize the brood nest as they choose.
I will be pulling supers in the next week or so.
