I have 3 second year hives that I put supers on back in late may. And so far no comb, no honey, no nothing.

    What gives?

sounds like they swarmed. How often do you check on them? If they swarmed and you checked them fairly often you would have noticed that "there ain't near as many bees in here as there use to be".

When you put the supers on the hive did you put a queen excluder on?

Yo, Brown, PM me. I live in North Central Elbert County and that doesn't sound right. My supers had comb, but it shouldn't be that much diffence.

I have about five overwintered swarms from last year that I wanted to requeen but the queens showed up DOA

They have just now refilled the second medium brood. I suspect that you need new queens.

How long would one expect for the bees to draw out a medium (10 frames)... and then to fill and cap with honey... during a nectar flow?

One to two weeks for a strong colony and a good flow.

BB- Any guess on how long it would take this time of year in NE Kansas. I just put a medium super with starter strips on my TBH. They've started working it after I added some comb from the TBH to draw them up to it.

It will be slow going from now to the end of Sept. You will have to feed heavily to get anything drawn. Be watchful of robbing.
