tested or untested

Although I've had bees years ago there is a lot of new technology today that I've never heard of fourty years ago. What do they mean, tested or untested when refering to the queen. I understand marked but what do they mean clipped or unclipped. If they clip the wings of a queen, how does she mate. I thought she had to mate while flying. I've missed out on a lot in the last few years so I'll probably pester you guys to death. Thanks, Bobby
