hey there guys we had a yard this year that got nosema so bad, every hive out of 9 got it. 6 of them died because of it we think. the only thing diferant this year was there was a lot of standing water under the hives and we did not use honey-bee-healthy like the last few years. we have never had nosema before was it the water?

I find nosema in all hives I test for beekeepers which do not treat.

At times nosema is not noticable to the beekeeper and then at times can be deadly. Easy to find by looking at the bee midgut.

Commercial beekeepers treat for nosema because nosema cuts a couple weeks off the bees life. The last two weeks!

    >was it the water.

    Don't know but doubt it.

I know of a beekeeper running around 700 hives swore by honey- bee- healthy till his hives started dying!
Only treatment a beekeeper needed he told us at a state meeting a few years ago.

we were told that all the extra moisture would sour the honey in the hives thus making it bad for the bees to eat. H-B-H is not a cure all but i do think it does somthing for the hive. Nick
