hi all, new to bees and completely stumped about forage. i live and plan to keep my bees in a suburban area in CT. There are large basswood trees, locust, ect close by but will two hives be too may for the area? will they have to fly to the limits of their range to get enough?
It sounds like a perfect place for two hives. Do you have water nearby? Honeybees will collect nectar, pollen, propolis, etc. in aproximately a two mile radius. The foliage that you have nearby produces great tasting honey.
