on the page to select a state, there's a choice for "all" that get's everything on 1 page
Now we're cookin' with gas. I like it so far.

I bought a 3# package of American Allstars from
Weaver last April ($57 picked up), the bees were
gentle and made a decent crop this year.
I emailed them about this coming spring and this was their reply...

    David:
I'll be ready about December 1 to start booking for next spring.
Place your order online about then.
Thanks very much for contacting us.

Last year four pounders & queen air freighted from California to Anchorage cost us $80. Had they come up UPS it would have been higher. If you guys have to pay $80 down there next time, I hate to think what it will run to get them here.

"this is the 30 minute version
don't put real data in it
    bang on it and comment
it let's you enter freeform text for a state, and then search by state
I'll probably flush all the data occationally as I continue to refine it
it's very crude at the moment but I thought I'd throw it out there and see what ideas come back"

    Dave,
    I like the page too!
    Maybe this thread could
    go on it's own.
    I'll see what info I
    can gather here in Texas.
    Please post when it's OK
    to start submitting info
    to the final page update.

    Man O' War

I think it's ok to start putting in real data
I can clean stuff up by hand if need be
I can tweak the cosmetics but I think the functionality is pretty much there
I fixed it where for any given supplier, you can post comments about service you got and stuff like that

Just received my price listing from Jester Bee in Arkansas... 3 lb package is now $62, and queens are at $18 (lower for 11 or more). I bought 20 queens from them last year for $10 each, glad I got em when I did.

Ya, it looks like I'll be splitting my own again this year... packages too high. I sometimes make my own queens, and sometimes purchase them, but with queen prices going thru the roof also, it looks like I'll go back to making them.

If I had to pay the prices for bees some of you guys are paying, I would get out of the business...

Beeing a newbee myself (first year this year) I wonder hw production will compare if You aplit a hive compared to paying 70-80 for a new package & leaving your old hives alone? IOW would you get 55-65 bux more honey from leaving the old colony alone & buying a package compared to making a split & buying a 15 bux or so queen for the split?

I think the answer is "there is no right answer"
    in this thread

    http://www.beesource.com/cgi-bin/ubb...=002994#000001

there are several method of splitting discussed
apparently, if done correctly, a cutdown split will give you more honey and a split.

If you want Russians Jester Bee Co in Arkansas is taking orders. I have 3 #3 with queen packages to be picked up there in April at $62.00 apiece. I'm only a couple hours away so I figured I'ld save on shipping.

Last year I bought 5 frame nucs for $45. I don't know if he will sell them for the same price this year.
