I've looked in different books for wild and domesticated flowers and can't find these two plants...among others...

    This is near and in the water;

    There are bees on it all day long.

    This opens in the morning and are visited only before 9:00 a.m. ...

    Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

    Almost looks like another Tradescantia, or it could be, like George says, a Notaclue.

    Did you realize that there is a flower named after you?

    That second one is Asiatic Dayflower (Commelina communis). It's a common weed around here, pretty but rangey. I pull it after it flowers.

    The first one looks like some type of clover, but I could be wrong.

    Finally I can be of some use on this forum and use my plant taxonomy degree.

    First one is alligatorweed (Alternanthera philoxeroides). Pretty common weed in and around wetlands and low areas in southern Louisiana.

    Great pic of the second plant David! Second plant looks very much like asiatic dayflower (Commelina communis), however all of my floras (regional plant identification books) are a few thousand miles away in Baton Rouge and I am on business in Yuma, Arizona for the month. I would rather be in Baton Rouge.

    Feel free to email me any jpegs of plants you can't figure out. I'll do my best without my books. Same for anyone else. My email is on my honey website.
