Demaree method

Anybody using the Demaree method to increase surplus honey ?

Does it work ?

I know that it is firstly intended to prevent swarming when queen cells are already built and that it is labor intensive, but I know a beekeeper with around 50 hives that does it on each hive before the nectar flow. I don't know if he does it at the right time though. I suppose that it would be better to doit at least 40 days before the major flow ?

I rotate my brood chambers about once every month and have found that I definately get more bees per hive. 500 hives and I also use FGMO fog weekly and cords every month.
