This year is a really dry year for us in South Central Virginia. After the Tulip Poplar bloomed in early May it quit raining all together. It probably hasn't rained an inch since then. We had a really good
flow of nectar in early May but now since everything has dried up there is nothing much for the bees to do. The sourwood is starting to bloom which will provide the bees with something again to do. We really only have what you might call two major flows with poplar and sourwood with about 6 weeks inbetween them. My question is: What should I be doing between these 2 major flows
with it so dry? The bees are going into stores for food. They surely are not drawing
any comb. Should I be feeding? Or what?
Thanks, Duane in VA.
