    Question

I purchased and installed a queen into a split from one of my Carnolian Hives. The queen was released May 1st. I just looked in on her and she is in the hive on open comb, but no attendants around her, nor any eggs or larve. The weather in my area has been cold and wet. It is now just starting to warm up.
Is she just slow to get started?
    What is up?

Wait another week and check, your queen will start shortly, or if they mailed you a virgin she will mate and start soon too.

Thank you, I will give her some more time.

Is she bigger in size then when you first put her in the hive? In other words, has she extended? If so she'll start laying very shortly, Probably the day after you order a new queen! I've seen them go 21 days before laying.
