Hi,
While counting my mite drop, I noticed a small area of sawdust on the sticky board.
Has anyone seen this before? I am thinking ants. Just curiouse. Don;t want to take the hive apart unneccesarily.
Thanks

Just make sure Mr. mouse isn't looking for a home.
Are you sure it's sawdust? Dropped cappings look kind of like sawdust. Wax moths leave even finer and more sawdust looking wax behind (along with feces that looks like mouse droppings only smaller) Carpenter ants will leave actual sawdust. If you put a new box on the bees will get all the sawdust off and it will fall on the bottom.
Usually when I see the sawdust looking stuff wax moths are present or should I say the larvae.
Assuming it's not the typical wax pieces, wax moths would be my first suspects.
Just one more thing it could be.I am sure it is wax cappings you are seeing. You may have a robbing problem.
