IF YOUR HIVES ARE STRONG THEN DONT WORRY ABOUT THE BUMBLE BEES THEY WILL TAKE CARE OF HIM IF HE COMES IN. IF THE HIVE IS WEAK I WOULD PUT AN ENTRANCE REDUCER ON YOUR HIVE TO REDUCE ROBING NOT ONLY FROM BUMBLE BEES BUT OTHER HONEYBEES AS WELL. HOW STRONG IS YOUR HIVE. IF ITS TO WEAK PUT THEM INTO A NUC BOX TIL THEY GET BUILT BACK UP.
If you use a piece of cardboard tacked over the entrance as a reducer, you can just leave it there all season and the bees will chew it away as they need more space. That way the entrance will never get too big for the bees to defend.

That would be a great way to come up with measurments of what ideal entrances shoudl be too. Wow. Never head that.
Awesome idea Robert!
