no honey in supers

hi,my second year beekeeping and still no honey. last year i had to feed them to make
sure they had food for winter, they made it
fine. did i get my supers on to late? they
are not doing anything,they do have plenty
of honey for them.second question ?if i wanted to put a second brood box, do i just
lift the honey box and put it above the brood box? if so, would this help me get my
honey supers filed? hope to hear from you.

Hi,
I would have given your hive the second brood chamber so the queen would have room to raise more brood ,in turn would be stronger and would have more bees for your honey flow. I see your in Maine ,I live in Ohio and would not even think of wintering my bees in one brood chamber because of our cold and snowny weather. Think about it, I would give the second brood chamber and hopefully when the fall flow starts ,you will be ready for some delicious honey for your table. Good Luck

Hi, walt thanks for the reply.
I guess I wasn't to clear on my question on
adding a second brood box, I have two hive
bodies now , with one being their honey supply,and the other for brood. If I want to
add a third hive body, is what I should have
said, do I put it between the two? sorry for
the confusion!also is this a time of nector
direst? they are coming and going but I can
not tell with what. they have no pollen.

Linwood, I would definitely put on the second brood chamber. In your case, Maine, you should definitely be wintering over in two. You might consider removing the honey super and work on building up the hive by placing the 2nd brood chamber on and feed them. Steve
