Oddly enough, my bees in New Mexico don't seem to be terribly upset about it.

I only caught the tail end of the news that said there was a major blackout. A few years ago almost everyone in Omaha and Lincoln (around here) was without power for two weeks. It probably didn't make national news. But then we never have looters or anything and since we aren't on one of the coasts, the News media do not know that there are actually cities and people out here. I notice my bees were as undisturbed by that one as this current blackout.
