We have a local be supply company that rents their extractor to hobbiests who don't have one. Since I don't have one, I'm considering renting it.

Is it safe to do so, since I do not have any brood diseases in my equipment at this time? What do you think?

    Thanks!

I would say as long as they are stainless steel (which they probably are), they would be safe. Just be sure to give it a good cleaning yourself before using it, that way you know it's been cleaned to your specifications.
