Empty Honey Supers

I have three hives. On my strongest hive the bees are going like gangbusters. I have stacked 6 supers and they have filled them all. I am now out of empty supers and frames. Can I move an empty super from a weaker hive (one that had swarmed earlier) onto the strong hive?

Normally I would just extract, but I am not ready to do so yet. Would this be a no-no?

As long as you brush the bees off first, you can move super's from one place to another as much as you like. If you put them on with bees from the other hive in them, it could lead to fighting which could lead to robbing etc.
