As a new beekeeper, well so far I am only a hive keeper since I don't have any bees yet, should I be concerned about CCD and availability of package bees?

I ordered my bees and have to pick them up April 9th. With all the media attention on CCD it makes me wonder if all these people losing 1000's of colonies will replace their own by splitting or order packages. Does anyone think there will be a shortage of package bees?

The office manager from Brushy Mountain spoke at our last club meeting and I asked him that question
he said so far no problems with availability but that they had sold out for their first delivery date
    where are you getting yours?

I'm getting mine from Dadant at their Lynchburg, VA branch. They seemed to be the closest to me...about a 2 1/2 hour drive.

If you ordered them then I would not worry too much. Either they have them or they do not, nothing you can do about it. I'd worry more if you had not ordered yet.
