I purchased a used extractor with a galvanized interior. If I do not plan to sell honey, do i need to coat the interior? Do I need to worry about contamination?

I think I would wash it very well, and lube it with something like "PAM". That is just me, I'd rather be safe than sorry!
You can coat the inside of the extactor with an epoxy-they have it in the Betterbee catalog. I went to my local bee supply house and he gave me his last can of it for my extractor-he said he didn't see much interest in it as stainless steel extractors are more common these days.
