What are Hives Worth?

I have just found out about another beekeeper looking to downsize while I'm trying to expand. He has nine hives to sell. I'm not sure what is included I assume supers as well. My question is what are these things worth. Four frame nucs sell for around 125 -130 CDN. Thanks in advance

a lot depends upon the state of the equipment,how strong is the hive,how many supers etc are included.i would say a strong hive with a couple of deeps is worth up to $200.of course it's better to buy in the spring,otherwisw your investment could die over the winter before you even get a chance to play with them.
