Cades Cove Bees

Greetings . . .

Years ago, each time I drove the loop thru Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains, I would see a large number of hives beside the roadside. They are gone now (about 3 yrs ago). Does someone have a photo (please post) or remember these hives (100+) or know what happened (owner died?).

yes Dave the hives was about half way around the loop right?the man that lived there died, his wife moved in with one of her son's I think,My brother-in -law was friend's with them,He may have some photo of them, I'll ask him & will let you know. P.S. I wish I was up there now sure is nice. Mark

Thanx for your reply, sure hope you can find a photo that shows that wonderful meadow FILLED w/ 100's of hives. The large number of hives are what sticks in my mind, along w/ the thoughs of the solitude. What a place to call HOME!
