I've got a good sized box full of wax that I want to clean and melt. How should I go about this? This is comb that was removed from old frames so some of it is pretty dirty.

If you can, don't use any type of open flame, as a heat source. It's best to melt it in water. Just start heating the water up and put the wax in when the wax has melted, you can pour it through a straner. The wax will stay on top of the water. When it cools you just pull the wax out.
A buddy of mine likes to melt it in the microwave. I haven't tryed it, but he says it works great.
