Wondered what the late winter purchases are?

Just received my 2 cases (200 shts) deep/black plasticell-Better Bee

Headed for Dadant tomorrow for:

1 box thin surplus foundation
120 Apistan strips
200 Deep frames
support pins (for the thin surplus)
New 1 1/2 " honey gate for my 150 lb tank {I've been meaning to buy it for 2 yrs and spend most of the bottling season cussing about forgeting}
What ever else I find once I get there I just can't live without!

Next week - 200 MDA boxes from Mann Lake - White and plastic caps

1st. week of March - Kelley order
50 new shallow (comb) frames to put thin surplus in.

Paid my April Queen billS this month $3287, I think for that price I get extra virus in my stock or else a letter 2 weeks b-4 delivery telling how the weather was bad and the breeding was really poor.

Coyote' I know you just got some "Stuff"!

Anyone making a big plunge?

Wish lists?

Dang Joel how many hives are you running? Is there a pill to stop me before I get that bad? I think I am coming down with what ever you have. My wish list is your orders for the next two months. Good Luck!

Joel, no sympathy on the honey gate, Dadant's is only about a 30 min drive away.

I bought 80 more frames (I build my own boxes) and honey procesessing equipment. My new extended family and friends (husbands' side) got a taste of my limited supply of honey last year and now I have a long list of orders.

Also...7 mesh wire and a jacket/veil combo (I have such gentle bees now...thanks to fat/beeman that I don't like putting on the full suit)

It's not a long list this year... I'm trying to beehave

Bought some pollen patties and Nuc entrances....Probably limit it to that and put a jacket/veil combo on my wish list for my B-day. I too build my boxes and have contemplated building frames since I have gone foundationless. Have to get the remodel on the house done first though before the boss will let me into my shop!

Queen rearing supplies, frames, and lots of lumber to build boxes with.

My wish list: a shop full of woodworking tools and some new extracting equipment.

Yipes. I feel positively tame! Arrived this week for immediate assembly. 6 deeps, 6 5-frame nuc shells, 100 deep wedge bar frames, and one new fangled sbb with nifty tray. I won't get my foundation for another month or so.

I just placed an order with Betterbee for three medium supers & frames, 30 sheets wired & 10 sheets cut comb foundation, and some wired small cell foundation. I also had to order a new hive tool. I finally lost the A.I. Root hive tool I bought back in 1975.

Mike, that tank is still empty and ready for you to use. I bought the stainless for my new tank and should have a cold rolled version to test in a couple of weeks, so let me know when to ship my old one to you.

Don't forget that Hobby Lobby has the best price on paraffin.

Cool. My boxes should be here this week. Anytime you can ship it would be great. I keep meaning to make it to Hobby Lobby for the paraffin. I got the rosin.

well Joel I have acquired a goodly little future stock of queen cells (minnesota hygenic) plus a goodly number of mated queens from bweaver. haven't written the check yet but probably somewhere near $1000.

still waiting on my first order from betterbee which is largely pollen traps and wire for pollen traps.

and the last place on the shopping list is kelley's for a bit of foundation.

Well I got roughly 1500 sheets of pierco snap-in foundation from Brushy Mountain with their free shipping deal.

I've spent $500 at Dadants so far getting a stainless no drip bottling valve, 2 120v immersion heaters and some odds and ends like a gal of Bee Quick.

I am picking up 1500 frames from Kelley's this weekend, a hand truck they sell, various queen rearing supplies, pollen trap, etc... (I can't remember everything I ordered.)

I've bought wood and made 60med and 15 deep boxes.
Cut up wood for 25 SBB this past weekend and have some assembled. Purchased wood and made 25 migratory covers. Still need to make approx 50 meds.

Purchased 2 used 80 gal Kelley's double boilers with lids and 3000 watt immersion heaters.

Will be buying more rosin/paraffin for my spring dip marathon!!

Bought 11 NWC queens from Strachans. To be delivered mid april. The rest I will raise myself.

Buying a bee trailer that I will pick up most likely in April. It holds 16 hives.

Ordered 25 DB feeders from Motherlode Plastics.

Will order some 2 gal feeder pails... (probably 20ish)

Still getting my order list together for bottles and things but will probably get that in a couple of months yet.

Still am looking at the possibility of a used auto uncapper, sump/clarifier/ and honey pump.

Now how am I going to break all this to my wife?

Oh Michael.... Did you get your rosin from Pacific Coast Chemical co out of California? If not where did you get it and what is the going rate.

Everytime I've called I've gotten different prices. --And they haven't gone down.

You guys are making me jealous. I'm spending my money on Workers Compensation bills, the IRS, college tuitions, and property taxes.

Wondering how I'll ever afford to live in the house I built, when retirement gets here.
