Since I want mediums, I build them out of ten frame deep boxes or one by eights and cut them to 7 1/2" deep. I divide it into four even sections with 1/4" laun in 3/8" deep grooves for dividers and canvas cloth stapled to the dividers for "inner covers" so the bees don't overflow into another section when inspecting. I drill a hole on all four sides with each hole going into a different section. I nail a 1/4" bottom on them too. That way I can stack them up without lids except for the top.
Sorry I don't have a good picture of the insides. I did some with 3/4" wood for dividers but the space is a bit crowded for two frames. It works, but it's hard sometimes to make enough room for the queen cells.
