cathing a beehive

I found a bee hive in a tree a few months ago and now I want to try to catch it. I remember reading something someone posted to use a screen mesh cone and hook it up to the back of a new brood super somehow, I just don't remember now. My question is how big of a hole do you need in the back of the brood super. Thanks
