I went out in the yard about 200 AM and looked at the hive. There were 3 big ole cockroaches munching down on white undeveloped bee carcasses. I don't know if the bees tossed these undevloped pupae out or the roaches went in and got them. The guard bees weren't doing much, and even let the roaches nibble on them. I was waiting for a mad rush of defender bees to overwhelm the roaches and kill them It didn't happen. Any thoughts?

If it's outside the hive which I assume since you say it's 2:00 am (what are you doing checking a hive at 2:00 am!?) then I would assume the bees drug it out and threw it away and the roaces are cleaning up the mess.

My hive is about 35 yards from my backdoor, and when I walk the dog before going to bed, I just look at what the bees are doing on their front porch.

I can't say I don't watch them at night, but not at 2:00 am.
