As far as I know the only thing Silicon gives off is Acetic acid as it cures and then nothing. Acetic acid is just the active ingrediant in vinegar.
How and/or why are you planning to use this caulk?
Hello Everyone,
I attempted to make a foundation leaf mold out of silicon caulk. When hot wax poured into the mold, the silicon would react with the hot wax and the wax would boil vigorously. Not sure of the gases coming off the reaction, maybe water and acetic.
Decided to use another compound for the mold because of the possibility of contaimination.
Room temps, don't know.
