I posted these at the end of another post, but I don't think you folks are looking! I think these pictures are amazing... several of them show the queen very nicely.

These are from 2 hives on Permacomb that were packaged 2 weeks ago. Please check them out... I think you're going to like them!

Don't forget to use the scroll buttons to move around if you have a small monitor like I do. I would like to know any impressions that you experienced beekeepers have about what is going on in the hives. I assume all is well, because I've never watched a hive start from scratch before. (My son, who is 10, snapped the photos, and he wants to know what you think, too.)

I looked at one and it is nice. But I have dial-up and the resolution is too high and takes me too long.

Bruce, here they are again on a web page. They should load faster. They are in the same order so that you can find the same shot above in the same order.

    Does it load okay now?

wjw: It's a Kodak EasyShare CX7330 (3.1 MegaPixels). John Seets sells the Permacomb. They've started to draw out all but the ones on the ends.

Great pics. I like how the bees turned your medium frames into a deep.

    Curry,
What a curious thought you've stirred up: What would happen if one were to put Permacomb in a deep? Does anyone know???

    Bruce:
see an earlier post for the camera type.... the EasyShare camera was highly rated on Amazon, that's why I chose it. I've been pleased with it.

I don't know what happens if you use permacomb in a deep box. I have 90 frames of PC in mediums and the bees are packing them full of brood and honey. The Honey Supercell(california) is supposed to be coming out soon, and it will fit the deep boxes. I plan to buy 30 frames to start with. I spent several hours Saturday and Sunday building and waxing frames(which I should have done last winter)and I really don't enjoy that kind of therapy. I checked and supered my bees and I had to use some natural wax foundation supers on several hives with permacomb. I'll be watching to see how they like the mix.
Banjos and bees... how sweet it is!
