Spots on comb...

I was cleaning my 2 dead hives out to put in the freezer and this was the only frame and only side that had this spotty black stuff on it.
It kind of looks like mold but I'm not sure. http://www.pasquella.com/spotty.jpg
My hives died of starvation this winter. One of them was extremly weak going in, so I knew the odds were against them. This was the hive that had the strange spots.
Any clues?

It is a very small amount of mold. Really moldy comb would be gray almost all over.

The bees will clean it up for you.
