We just inspected our hive and have found possibly as many as 500-1000 dead bees outside of the hive! It seems like mostly worker bees. Activity of the other bees seems normal.
As anyone in the Chicago area knows, we've had some record cool temperatures, but, nothing close to freezing-maybe middle 40's.
    Does anyone have any input????

Sounds like someone is spraying insecticide check around to see if anyone is or has been spraying, if so contact your local AG office they may be able to help you out.
Not knowing the area your in they might even be spraying for misquetoes and mixed to strong a mix. I think their might be something that your local state ag office might be able to do.
