We had 7" of rain last night. Today it's almost 80 degrees which makes for unbearable humidity. Usually under circumstances such as these, all my hives have beards. This year I put slatted racks on all of them and no beards. But you should hear them humming! It's so loud I thought I had another swarm. Then I realized they're just ventilating.

We had ten minutes of golfball sized hail yesterday. Today, the bees are shouting "leave me alone".

Two broken skylights, siding, camper has dents. What a mess.

I once watched a hive after a downpour. The landing board was sodden--except under the fanning bees, where it was bone dry. That's some wing power!
