Nailing frames

What is the proper placement for nails when nailing new frames together? Also should wax foundation be crosswired? It has the verticle wires already in it.

2 nails on each end, top and bottom (8 total). I use panel nails for the top bars, and wire nails for the bottom bars. I'm not 100% about using cross wires with vertical ones, but I think you should use 2 cross wires.
