hive positioning

I am about to put out my hive in a couple of weeks and I was wandering if I should put my hive on cinder blocks or not it will be on a 2 by 4 but should I place the 2 by 4 on cinder blocks or not.

Also I am placing my hive next to another established hive will that be a problem for my new hive or not.

I always put hives on blocks; it doesn't bother the bees and it saves my back. Putting a new hive next to an old will do no harm, but use an entrance reducer if it's weak, to discourage robbing.
