Time. No matter how hot the water or how much soap and scrub there is always a film of wax on them until you use them long enough to wear it off. I did buy some stuff from Brushy Mt. that I haven't had the time to try that says it will remove wax.

When I am cleaning the pans and stuff that I melt wax in, I add some cheap vegetable oil and heat it. The wax dissolves/melts into the oil, and comes off much easier. Dishsoap and hot water removes the oil wax mixture with a lot less scrubbing.

Vegatable oil. That's a great idea! I will try that next time.
