    Question

Is there a way to use a sticky pad in a regular non screened bottom board? Can I use plasic coated in oil? I haven't had time to make SBB for all three of the hives I am setting up.

    Thanks

All the early ones were for a regular bottom board to assess the mites. You can buy them from the suplliers. Usually they are a sheet of sticky paper (not too sticky so the bees don't get stuck) and a plastic mesh that goes on it to help the bees if they get stuck.

Try the bee suppliers. I think they all have them.

Could I use a piece of plastic covered in oil and some hardware cloth on top? Can you tell I am cheap?

It might work. I'd put a pretty good layer of oil on the plastic.
