Two of my frames' foundation had been chewed by mice that got into my cellar. Two more have holes in the wax after I left them propped up against a tree and my chickens pecked them. I am a new Beekeeper and don't know the best way to fix them. Do I cut the wire, replace the wax and rewire, or is it possible to replace the foundation without removing the wire? Thank you!

I just put the frame back into the hive and let the bees fix it.

I think if you just put it back in you'll find that the bees will make new comb.
Which is a good thing, the bad thing is that it will probable be drone cells.
Cut a piece of foundation to fit, and stick it in there.

when i come across damaged foundation i cut out hole to make it square then cut out peice of new foundation and lay in very carefully then heat hivetool just hot enough with cig lighter to press drawn comb on outer edges of square
make sure the wires are tucked into the slat and staight as the bees will draw comb on it.
