medicated powder

Hi all, I was in the in line at the PX yesterday and right infront of my eyes was some medicated powder. Im sure you know what im talking about, i think BONDS medicated powder is a name brand, its like babypowder. Anyways of course i thought of dusting bees with powdered sugar... so i looked at the ingrediants and it had menthol and also tymol in it. I just thought id throw that out here and let you all kick any ideas around about it.

If you want menthol and thymol in your hive, I suppose it will work. But just plain powdered sugar is known to remove mites without all that smell and taste.

I don't see why it couldn't be used late in the summer or fall........

Remember, Daisy is the one using Vicks on her bees. I can just see her rubbing it one each bee's chest in the fall...

But, of course, Vicks has the same basic active ingrediants. Mostly menthol and thymol.
