It's similar to honey. It works best if you have a hot box. If it sets hard, it is sometimes really hard to get rid of the granules in the bottem. If there are a lot of granules left, we pour off the liquid syrup and then add some water to the granules. They will then at least soften up enough that the bees can take them in a hive top feeder
Is corn syrup a good feed for the bees ? Any better than syrup made from white sugar ?
Most corn syrup is "high fructose" corn syrup. This is made with an enzymatic process that converts a lot of the sucrose to fructose. It is chemically closer to what honey is and saves the bees some of their converting that they do for nectar.
All in all, I don't see any difference. It's all sugar to the bees.
