Pollen cells?

What does pollen in the cell look like? When i did a cut out last Thursday, a few cells were pea green in color. When i put a twig in and raked some of it out of the cell, the contents were moist, but a rough texture. I had never seen that before. I first thought maybe AFB, but it wasn't ropey.

Before they are capped, they can be any color depending on what is in your area. Right now, my bees are bringing in yellow pollen. Later, they will bring in different colors of pollen. When the pollen is capped, they cap it and the capping is white, or at least that is what I see. Its pretty cool to hold up a frame and see different colors of pollen.

Bee bread is made from pollen collected in the field. Two pollen pellets are dropped into a cell, which are then manipulated and mixed with honey and secretions from worker bees. This mixture, called bee bread, is then pushed into the cell until it is two-thirds full.
