Talked with the supplier of the sugar syrup I mentioned in an earlier post.

The sugar harvest up here is delayed almost 4 weeks and no excess around until October!!

She hinted that I should buy dry sugar soon as the price will spike. I buy sugar like once a year for myself so I have not been watching prices on a local level.

What are your sugar prices looking like??

Well here in Alabama the price for 25# is $17.88 with no supplier for HFCS without driving over 200 miles and the price is alot more than dry sugar.
I'm gonna stay with the dry sugar until my hive numbers are large enough for at least half a tanker load..lol

    good luck in your hunt......

I've been buying 25# bags at Walmart for $9.28. Figure 100 lbs cost about $40 (including tax).

The sugar syrup when available in Oct will be $17.00 per hundred weight. Thats a bargin!! It would be $25.00 per hundred pounds of sugar.

Just talked to my son in law in St Cloud Mn. He works for Coke and is arranging for me to pick up a couple of 55's of HFCS-55. He is calling this AM with prices.

I am sure HFCS-55 will track sugar prices a bit.

25# for $8.00. At a 'Bag and Save'. As canning season draws upon us you can get good deals on sugar, just watch the grocery ads.
