I didnt get a chance to order my bees until later than i wanted to. so i wont get them until the middle of may. will this be all right or will i have to do some things differently?

Feed them as much syrup as they'll take and don't expect to get any honey.They should do fine.

A swarm set up housekeeping in my yard at the end of June, and they are fine. They are living between the walls of the cold frame, and I have never done anything with them so far. I am now trying to split the colony by giving them supers to grow into.
i've never gotten my packages on time.
