    Default marking the queens

I would like to mark my newly hatched queens after their mating flight.
How long do I wait for the paint to dry before releasing her back to the hive?

i think you'll get a wide range of responses to this. the answer is, until its dry. make soem test dabs on a non absorbant surface and time how long it takes to dry. this will be your answer.

I use Testors and just place a very small dot on her and it's right back in hive she goes. No waiting.....no problem.

Probably not the best or safest method, but I have been marking them while they are still on the frame with a yellow Uni paint pen. Has worked fine so far.

    Thanks all for the reply.
Is the Testors the acrylic type paint? I found the cement type. Is this the correct paints to use?
