All those predictions are not worth what we pay for. In the last week we have been told to expect six to eight inches three different times, and now have a grand accumilation of about five.
Four weeks and new little green leaves will start poppin out!

If it freezes in Florida, won't that be considered a natural disaster? I guess those Floridians are going to have to buy long-sleeved shirts or something.

Might just toughen them up a bit

Daisy,
Thanks for the warning. It began getting cold here in northern Alabama right after the rains ceased. Fortunately, thanks to your tip, I was ready. I called a number of family and friends over for a real ol' fashon quilting bee. By this afternoon, we were able to get 127,307 bees suited in nice little homemade jackets. Our goal was 127,646, but we ran out of batting. Anyway, it was a success. When I checked on them this evening, they were all clustered up with the jacketed ones on the outside and the ones without jackets in the center drinking hot tea. I think they will be alright.

I'm having a tough couple of days here. It's 24 degrees out and we cannot afford jackets for our bees. Other than 5 or 6 yellow jackets that I saved from this summer the bees have nothing. Here in North Texas they have been unable to fly for 2 or 3 days now and pollen collection has been spotty all month. Thank god the dandelions are 2-3 inches tall under the leaves.
Can't wait for spring.
