i fed my bees this afternoon late. i fed last week using the rapid feeders, but they were still full this afternoon. i had only one frame feeder, that i used with a wood float, and it was sucked dry. anybody have any ideas on how to get the bees interested in using the rapid feeders?

I'd suggest you stop letting your bees watch FOX News, or maybe hide where it says "Made in Canada" (or, I think they call it Canuckistan on the 'Fair & Balanced' network)

Sometimes a hive isn't interested because they are busy with a nectar flow and don't want to shift gears to the feeder. I'm sure a little lemongrass oil or HBH would get them into it, or any other flavoring from anise to vanilla would probably work too. But if they were needing the syrup they would be working it.

My guess is that if you swapped the rapid feeder for the frame feeder (so the frame feeder hive has the rapid feeder and vica versa) then you'd see the rapid feeder go down and the frame feeder ignored.
