entrance reducers

Just a reminder for all of the new beekeepers.

If you live in a colder region of the country, you should have entrance reducers on. Mice will be starting to move into your hives, and they can do lot's of damage!

If you have an above average mice problem, I've found setting up an empty super with traps inside works great.

Around here you need metal mouse guards. Most mice will enlarge the standard 3/8 opening large enough for them to get in. Be sure mr/mrs mouse is not there before installing the mouse guards as they will keep the mouse in and a lot of comb damage will result.
